Dr. Hornig has 30+ years of experience in software architecture, design, development and deployment. He received a B.A. in Applied Mathematics and Physics from Harvard University in 1976. He received his Ph.D. in Computer Science from Carnegie Mellon University in 1984, for “Automatic Distribution and Tuning on a Network of Personal Computers.” At CMU he also worked with acoustic signal processing and a distributed sensor network.

At Carnegie Group from 1984-1997 Dave led several projects including expert system diagnostics, knowledge based development tools, neural networks, and a variety of telecommunications technologies. Later as a consultant to the MAYA Group, Dave did Java development including cartography, low-level graphics packages and a scripting language compiler, and captured in documents many of the visionary design concepts that had been an informal part of the culture.

Dr. Hornig led Touchtown’s development team between 2000 and 2011, including the development of the web and video portions of our Studio product.
