Ted Teele is the Chief Executive Officer at Touchtown, and is responsible for all aspects of the company’s strategy and operations. Ted has a long history of entrepreneurial and executive management, with particular skills in finance, business development, marketing, and sales.
Immediately before joining Touchtown, Ted was the founder and Chief Executive Officer of SnapRetail, a venture capital financed Software as a Service (“SaaS”) company located in Pittsburgh. Under his leadership, SnapRetail was named one of ten “Brilliant Companies” in “Social Shopping” by Entrepreneur Magazine, one of Pittsburgh’s top technology companies (“Tech 50”), one of the fastest growing companies in Pittsburgh by the Pittsburgh Business Times, and was also named one of the best companies to work for in Western Pennsylvania by both the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette and the Pittsburgh Business Times.
Prior to SnapRetail, Ted spent 8 years as the Chief Executive Officer of OneCoast, the largest independent sales representative agency in the $55 billion gift and home accessories industry. OneCoast’s 175 person sales team sold $250+ million worth of products to about 65,000 retailer customers coast to coast.
Earlier in his career, Ted helped start Industry.Net, a pioneer in Business to Business ecommerce. Ted’s work at Industry.Net included positions as the Vice-President of Sales and Customer Service, where he developed and managed a 58 person sales team in 17 offices around the country, as well as Vice-President of Business Development. After Industry.Net, Ted nearly quadrupled revenues as VP, Worldwide Sales and Professional Services and then President and Chief Operating Officer of ServiceWare, a knowledge management software company.
Ted received an MBA with High Distinction from Harvard Business School, where he was designated a George F. Baker Scholar for graduating in the top 5% of his class. While at Harvard Business School, he spent a summer working for Sony Corporation in Tokyo, Japan. Ted also received a BA cum laude from Harvard College. During his time at Harvard College, he took a year off and travelled to the South Pacific. Ted graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in Washington, D.C, but also spent two of his high school years at the American International School of Kabul, Afghanistan.
